THE ROLE, FUNCTIONS AND INNOVATIONS OF TOURIST INFORMATION CENTERS IN THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE
Abstract
During the conducted research, a comprehensive study of the key role and various functions performed by tourist information centers (TICs) was carried out. The results of this analysis revealed a wide range of opportunities inherent in TICs to promote the growth and development of the tourism industry. This article carefully outlines the global landscape of tourism center operations and service implementation, based on international experience, which are valuable guidelines for understanding the key aspects and nuances of TIC operations. The study of successful practices from different countries was a central point, which made it possible to identify the key elements that contribute to the effectiveness of the TIC. These cross-cultural insights not only enrich the understanding of best practices, but also emphasize the adaptability and versatility of centers in serving the unique needs of diverse tourism markets. International research has shown that tourist centers go beyond their traditional role as simple information providers; they also play a strategic role in shaping and guiding the development of the tourism industry. Recognizing the multifaceted nature of the contribution of TICs, this study highlights the strategic importance of these centers in influencing tourism policy, marketing strategies and destination development. Based on the results of this study, the article puts forward specific proposals and initiatives aimed at increasing the functionality and efficiency of Ukrainian tourist information centers. These recommendations are based on the successful practice revealed during comparisons of the experience of established TICs, aimed at expanding the capabilities of Ukrainian TICs in order to use global information for local influence. In summary, the study not only highlights the importance of TICs as dynamic entities in the tourism ecosystem, but also serves as a catalyst to promote continuous improvement and innovation in the Ukrainian tourism landscape. By applying the best international practices and adapting them to the local context, Ukrainian TICs can position themselves as an integral driver of sustainable growth and success of the national tourism industry.
