PROSPECTS OF DEVELOPMENT OF INTERNAL ETHNIC TOURISM IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of the prospects for the development of domestic ethnic tourism in Ukraine. The relevance of the study is explained by the lack of coverage of the issue of ethnic tourism in the scientific literature. The need of people for their ethnic identification is also worth noting, as evidenced by the increasing popularity of ethnic tourism in Ukraine. The purpose of the study is to identify specific historical and cultural regions and related traditions that are the motive in ethnographic tourism. In order to achieve this goal, the following tasks should be performed: to identify common problems of the development of ethnic tourism; analyze the problem of motivating tourists to visit a particular place; identify features of culture and traditions of historical and cultural regions that are attractive to tourists interested in ethnography; highlight the prospects for solving these problems. To achieve the goal, the following research methods were used: theoretical analysis and systematization of scientific literature – to determine the state and theoretical justification of the prospects for the development of domestic ethnic tourism in Ukraine. Methods of empirical research: experiment, comparison, generalization, observation. The article shows that ethnic tourism is an active way of learning the history of the nation. Potential tourists may be interested in religious sites, historical, cultural, architectural monuments. Ukrainians have preserved the basic elements of the traditional, material and spiritual culture of their national communities, so Ukraine has a significant cultural, economic and educational potential for the development of ethnic tourism. The article shows that Ukraine has a considerable potential for introducing ethnotourism, given the availability of ethno-tourism resources. Ethnic festivals, representing original traditions, authentic rituals and customs, unique national cuisine, hospitality of Ukrainians, contribute to increasing the number of tourists.
